    My sister told me, point blank, that if her son needed a blood transplant in order to live, she would let him die. She said this to me as if it were a good thing. I did not ask her; she volunteered this.

    In the HRCC, saving a woman's life can get you formally excommunicated. In the JW, saving a child's life can get you completely locked out of your community. The HRCC at least has a viable excuse for its madness: its delusion that personhood is defined by a genome. The JWs will kill a child based on some lunatic misinterpretation of a 3000 year old document.

    Knowingly letting a child die when they could have been saved is inexcusable.
