In accordance with their "No sex with adults" rule for their field sales team (priests) the Holy Roman Cash Cult has fired a fresh new priest in New York state because he fathered a child with an adult he did not rape. Priests are not permitted to have sex with adults.

It's one thing to rape a couple of dozen children, that will get you a brand new parish, but having consensual sex with a grownup without using that sinful birth control is a grave sin and can not be tolerated.

If you are capable of a normal adult sexual relationship you have no business being a Catholic priest. Non-perverts need not apply.

That sort of thing didn't happen in the old days: When Origen felt the urge to bang something, he took a lesson from Matthew 19:12 and cut his own balls off - and Tertullian used the same verse as a reference when he advised young priests to resist temptation by hacking off the old nuts.

It's encouraging to know that, beneath the stern visage and ominous raiments, not all of these priests are complete monsters.

Some of them are sneaking out on their own to lead a double-life as regular guys. This further undermines the false representation of atheism as a cult or religion, of course. If we were, we would be deploying real missionaries to the lands of the delusional to rescue these fellows from the bonds of sexual repression. Our outreach services would be knocking on the doors of every first-year seminarian, giving tips on first date etiquette and distributing good quality porn.

Every Catholic church needs a good therapist and a matchmaker. But I guess they wouldn't be allowed to practice on their own staff if they had them, anyway.

Very true. During 12 years of Catholic school I naturally encountered many priests. While most of them were authoritarian and distant there was one priest who was abundantly kind to our family when my father died. I still remember him and how he was welcoming to everyone. He was a teacher in high school and generally fair and likable.

There are good people everywhere. In the case of the HRCC it is the greedy, power mad global corporation I despise, not people who are Catholic.
