A young chap has uploaded a video wherein he moans about the way his life is going, and declares that he will start doing things differently - and he is encouraging others to join him.

It's a terribly boring video but I had to laugh at this bit. I know they are just Christian cliches, but he really is setting himself up for ridicule.

And then there's this bit:

So what did Jesus stand for?

  • If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple (Luke 14:26)
  • I came not to send peace, but a sword. (Matthew 10:34)
  • Take therefore no thought for the morrow (Matthew 6:34)
  • Sell that ye have and give alms (Luke 12:33)
  • Let the dead bury the dead (Luke 9:60)
Not even the very devout Christians try to follow those teachings. Instead they call on the apologists to reinterpret the texts until they are saying something quite different.

With the music and the way it was presented that was actually quite moving. Or maybe it's just too early in the morning and I haven't had my first cup of coffee yet. Lack of coffee in the morning makes me think poorly. I wished he had flipped through the cards a little faster though. I could feel my life ticking away waiting for them to change.

It seems he is missing something. He is not content and he thinks Christians should go to church seven days a week and help others in need. Less routine more God!

Why worship only one day a week, when we can worship seven days a week! Blah Blah.

How can you have the living God inside you and still be discontent? Beats the hell out of me. He seems to think something is missing. Again, not sure how you can have God working on you and be inside you and have something missing. What do I know though? I'm just a dumb atheist.

I read his message differently - a mixture of projection and passive-aggression.

"Look at me, I'm a worthless sinner just like you, but at least I'm trying to better myself - while the rest of you are doing nothing."

Nope, we read it pretty much the same way. I was being facetious. Hence, my lack of coffee and thinking poorly reference.

It went right over my head - Score 1 for you.

(Now I'm off to get my sarcasm detector checked)

Maybe my attempts at being facetious could use improvement. :Tounge:
