Obama May Be Gay, Claims Family Research Institute's Paul Cameron

Huffington Post | May 15, 2012

The Family Research Institute's Paul Cameron has joined the chorus of dissenting voices angered by President Obama's endorsement of same-sex marriage last week.

As Right Wing Watch is reporting, Cameron denounced Obama's stance on Crosstalk with Jim Schneider of VCY America (Voice of Christian Youth), even suggesting that the president himself might be gay.

"Actually, while I’m not sure about the claims by the various people who have reported that Obama has at least participated at times with them in homosexual acts, this certainly lends some credence," Cameron noted in the clip.

After stating that "the long term goal of the homosexual movement is to get every little boy to grab his ankles and every little girl to give it a try," he added, "They will not rest until every one of our children at least gets to try, has the opportunity and maybe is forced to at least once experience homosexual acts."

Just another example of right wing bullying. The Christian right doesn't appreciate President Obama's support for same sex marriage at all. Paul Cameron, of the Family Research Institute, goes so far as to suggest that Obama may be gay himself.

Why is it, every religious organization with the words, Family, Liberty, Values, Freedom, Democracy, American, etc. in their name, all condone racism and bigotry?

Paul Cameron, Anti-Gay Pundit Who Claimed Obama May Be Gay, Admits Early Attraction To Men

Huffington Post | May 16, 2012

The anti-gay activist who argued that President Obama may be gay defended his views, but perhaps inadvertently, revealed some surprising personal information of his own along the way.

The Family Research Institute's Paul Cameron spoke out on "The David Pakman Show," though his rambling arguments often went into questionable, often unintelligible, territory. When asked about why he felt Obama was gay, he noted, "Obama is a smart fellow. Here you have a situation in which, if anything, he should have just stepped back politically. Instead, he took...an enormous risk coming out for something that, quite clearly, the majority of Americans do not approve of."

When Pakman pressed him on the view again, Cameron noted, "If you look at his church...if you look at his connections with Hollywood...as Liz Taylor said, 'Without gays, there is no Hollywood.'"

As for his earlier claim that "the long term goal of the homosexual movement is to get every little boy to grab his ankles and every little girl to give it a try," Cameron stated, "In those societies in which homosexuality gets a fair degree of prominence -- for instance, Afghanistan; for instance, Pakistan -- you have an enormous...incorporation of children into homosexual activity."

Finally, in perhaps the most bizarre point in the interview, Cameron acknowledges having been raped as a child and "overcoming" sexual feelings about men as he approached his adolescent years. "I reacted to my environment," he said. "As you're probably aware, I was seduced, or raped, as a child...I was raped homosexually. Had that continued, I don't know where I would've ended up."

He went on to note, "I do know that the culture, which was directed toward heterosexuality, overcame whatever feelings I had -- and I had some, that I acquired as 3-year-old -- and by the time I was 9 or 10, I was thoroughly interested in girls."

[Source]

One day after calling President Obama gay, Paul Cameron admits he had an early sexual attraction to men. Regardless of his statement to the contrary, I believe he still has an attraction to the same sex. Only now, his attraction to the same sex, is manifesting itself as homophobia. David Pakman not only makes him look like an idiot, he makes him look like the hateful homophobic he truly is.

Cameron is another fraudster involved in pray away the gay scams. Like 100% of other lying homophobic bastards who make their living by slandering gay people he is a devout Christian.

Seems like if you want to get anywhere in the bigotry business you're going to have to use religious beliefs to justify your hate, because the facts just don't quite justify homophobia.

Ken Bennett, Arizona Secretary Of State, Fans Birther Flames, Threatens To Keep Obama Off Ballot

The Huffington Post | May 18, 2012

Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett made moves to appease birthers in his state this week, petitioning the state of Hawaii to confirm the existence of President Barack Obama's long-form birth certificate, which the White House released last year.

In a radio interview with KFYI's Mike Broomhead, Bennett said he would consider keeping the president off the ballot if the state failed to answer his request. Bennett, who is preparing for a gubernatorial run in 2014, also denied being a birther himself, and said that his action was not a move to gain favor with fringe elements in Arizona. He claimed it was a standard response to pressure from over 1,200 Arizonans who had emailed him with concerns about the president's eligibility and the authenticity of his birth certificate.

"I'm not a birther. I believe the president was born in Hawaii -- or at least I hope he was," Bennett told Broomhead. "But my responsibility as secretary of state is to make sure that the ballots in Arizona are correct and that those people whose names are on the ballot have met the qualifications for the office they are seeking."

[Full Story]

Ken Bennett isn't the only republican politiican to bring up President Obama's birth record recently either.

Rep. Mike Coffman, Colorado Republican Congressman, Says Obama Is 'Not An American'

The Huffington Post | May 17, 2012

At a fundraiser in Elbert County last weekend, Colorado Republican Congressman Mike Coffman shared some startling thoughts about President Barack Obama, raising the issue of the president's United States citizenship.

Toward the end of his speech, after citing the downturn in the U.S. economy, Coffman said:

I don't know whether Barack Obama was born in the United States of America. I don't know that. But I do know this, that in his heart, he's not an American. He's just not an American.

9News, which first reported about Coffman's statement and has complete audio of his speech from Elbert County, spoke to Elbert County

Republican Chairman Scott Wills who was in attendance and said that the comment was met with "deafening silence" at first, followed by applause.

Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett and Republican Chairman Scott Willis must be a morons. They should of read the story below, before they made such obviously stupid and ridiculous claims.

Obama Birther Rumor Debunked As Literary Agent Clarifies Mistake

The Huffington Post | May 17, 2012

Barack Obama birth certificate conspiracy theorists have been foiled again.

Conservative-leaning Breitbart.com on Tuesday published a copy of a promotional booklet from Obama's former literary agency. According to a brief biography in the 1991 booklet, Obama was "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii," fueling fire to the idea that the president is not a natural-born American citizen.

As New York magazine noted, the article caused a stir in conservative circles, drawing commentary from the Drudge Report and other popular websites.

However, the woman who wrote Obama's biography in the pamphlet said Thursday that she had misidentified Obama's place of birth.

"This was nothing more than a fact-checking error by me -- an agency assistant at the time," Miriam Goderich, who worked for the literary agency Acton & Dystel, told Yahoo News. "There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii."

The issue of Obama's birthplace has been raised frequently since his initial presidential run in 2008, despite the White House release of a copy of his birth certificate last spring.

The post on Breitbart.com included a disclaimer, stating that the site's founder Andrew Breitbart, who died earlier this year, never subscribed to birther theories.

"Andrew Breitbart was never a 'Birther,' and Breitbart News is a site that has never advocated the narrative of 'Birtherism,'" read the note. "In fact, Andrew believed, as we do, that President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961."

As was long predicted by people who understand somewhat how meat brains operate, publishing Obama's birth certificate—even the long form—did not stop the birthers.

Now, it's one thing for Secretary Bennett to request Obama's birth certificate (again) to appease morons who didn't believe it the first time or the second time, and certainly won't believe it the third time; but to threaten to keep Obama off the ballot makes Bennett a birther. One cannot morally take legal action based on what one believes to be false.

Once we sanctify faith, the deliberate belief in a claim with no evidence, it becomes easier for manipulative persons to put false ideas in your head that promote their political agenda.

If you stand on a rooftop and yell out your fervent desire to believe anything you are a moron asking to be used by a villain. This process is called politics.

I was intrigued by his lead-in to that quote:

"... and ... umm ... ah ... y'know ... it's ... ah ... it ... really does hinge on this election ..."

Coffman knew this was the critical part of his speech (falsely declaring that the US President is not an American) and he was worried about how the audience would receive it - hence the stuttering.

Good point Cousin Ricky. Now what if Secretary Bennett is really using the birther issue, as a stepping stone to garner support, for a 2014 run as Arizona's next Governor? While still morally reprehensible, at least it makes some sense.

Birtherism as Rube Bait

Slate Magazine | May 18, 2012

TPM's Arizona expert Nick Martin reports (with a perfect photo choice) on the incipient birtherism of the state's election boss, Ken Bennett. "I believe the president was born in Hawaii," he says, "or at least I hope he was." The classic birther out! He's spending time requesting more documents from Hawaii, because that's what Arizonans need their Secretary of State to do.

It looks like a real, moron-propelled danger for the Obama campaign (and maybe Romney's, too -- if two birth certificates don't prove your citizenship, what does?), until you read this:

Meanwhile, Bennett is hoping to take Brewer’s job when she becomes term limited in two years. The Arizona Capitol Times reported (paywall) earlier this week that he is already collecting signatures to get on the 2014 ballot for governor.

Move along, folks. This is a pander. It's a move pioneered by Nathan Deal, now the governor of Georgia. In late 2009, when he was trying to distinguish himself in the GOP primary, he started requesting proof of citizenship from the occupant of the White House. "I have looked at the documentation that is publicly available," he said, "and it leaves many things to be desired." He sounded awfully concerned! Then he won his primary (in a squeaker against the Palin-endorsed candidate), won the election (by a landslide), and had a GOP supermajority to work with in the legislature. What's he done on Obama's citizenship? Absolutely nothing. Georgia's birthers, who TRUSTED Deal, are left to fight out frivolous lawsuits.

It's possible that Bennett believes this stuff. It's equally possible that he's positioning himself on the right side of Joe Arpaio as he readies for a 2014 primary fight. After all, in 2015, Gov. Bennett would have nothing to do or say about the ballot status of Barack Obama. He'll have pandered and moved on, risk-free, with the birthers dispersed.

Unless one of the parties nominates another black person.

Arpaio using deputy to help in Obama birth investigation

Azcentral.com | May 21, 2012

Sheriff Joe Arpaio's volunteer investigation into documents pertaining to President Barack Obama's residency status now includes the services of a taxpayer-funded deputy, according to Arpaio.

The deputy joined Mike Zullo, a volunteer member of Arpaio's cold-case posse, in Hawaii this week in part due to "security issues," according to Arpaio, and because the investigation has progressed.

"It's one deputy, so what? We have security issues, too, that I can't got into," Arpaio said on Friday. "For six months we were not spending any money. When you're doing investigations sometimes things change, you put more resources into it."

The cold-case posse has spent about $40,000 on the investigation so far, according to the Sheriff's Office. The posse is funded through donations.

Arpaio has in the past touted the investigation's total reliance on donated funds and volunteers, but the investigation now requires the use of a sworn deputy.

Arpaio said the volunteer posse is in the midst of a criminal investigation, but refused to discuss details of the probe or what drove the posse member and deputy to Hawaii.

The Sheriff's Office also had to cover the costs of airfare and hotel rooms for the deputy and Zullo, Arpaio said, but he expects the posse to reimburse the agency for those costs.

The detective assigned to the Obama investigation works in the sheriff's threats unit, and continues to work on other cases while assisting with the posse's investigation, according to the Sheriff's Office.

"He's not going to make any arrests," Arpaio said. "I didn't say we're going to keep using him. We're not going to use him constantly. He's not assigned to it. For this trip I feel it's important to have a deputy there. He's just a liaison to give advice if needed. He's not doing anything. The posse's been doing the research. I'm not going to
say what other trips they've been taking but they haven't had a deputy with them."

The investigation was launched last year, Arpaio said, at the request of 250 members of the Surprise Tea Party.

In March, the sheriff held a news conference with Zullo, author Jerry Corsi, whose research initially guided the investigation, and members of the Surprise Tea Party. Zullo detailed the posse's allegations that Obama's birth certificate and selective-service card were frauds.

The White House pointed to documents available on the government's Web site that verify the president's birth in Hawaii. Copies of those documents were what Zullo relied on in the investigation.

The U.S. Justice Department filed a civil-rights lawsuit earlier this month alleging that the Sheriff's Office has discriminated against Latinos in jail and patrol operations and that the agency has retaliated against people who speak out against Arpaio and his policies.

Arpaio has denied that the Obama investigation is politically motivated, though many critics have pointed out that other skeptics and many mainstream Republicans long ago moved on from the topic.

Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett brought the topic back into the news last week when he confirmed that he has asked officials in Hawaii to verify Obama's birth certificate to ensure the president can appear on Arizona's Nov. 6 ballot.

Arpaio said the investigation isn't focused on Obama's birthplace, but rather the potential that some of the documents produced to verify his birth are fraudulent.

"I have enough deputies around to spare one," Arpaio said."One deputy out of 900 and we're going to have problems? No way."

[Source]

You got to admire the birthers for their tenaciousness if nothing else. They have no intention of letting this issue die. Sheriff Arpaio should be reprimanded for using a tax payer funded deputy in his birther probe.

Yes, this is the same Sheriff Arpaio who is under investigation for unlawfully discriminating against Latinos and disregarding their basic constitutional rights.

Republican Congressman Mike Coffman, is now backing away from his previous comments that President Obama is not an American.

Via The Huffington Post: When asked to elaborate on his apology for controversial comments he made at a fundraiser in Elbert County a couple of weeks ago, Coffman--clearly caught off guard by the unscheduled interview--seemed stuck on repeat.

You can read that story here.

Mitt Romney’s New BFF: Donald Trump

The Daily Beast | May 25, 2012

Forget Clooney for Obama. Team Romney now has a Trump fundraiser, a Trump super PAC, and a former presidential aspirant who won’t stop talking about where the president was born.

First things first: Donald Trump is delighted that Mitt Romney is using The Donald’s star power to lure lottery contestants and donors to a major fundraiser June 28 for Romney’s presidential juggernaut

“I’m honored that they feel that way about me,” Trump told The Daily Beast on Thursday night, as the reality-television star/real-estate mogul was being described in the media as the Republican answer to George Clooney (whose movie-star magnetism helped raise $15 million for President Obama at a similarly touted event two weeks ago). “I feel strongly that Mitt is really doing well. I think he’s gonna be a great candidate and a great president. We need a great president. I feel a lot of people listen to what I have to say.”

No sooner were those dutifully gooey sentiments out of the way than The Donald—who plans to host a lunch or dinner for the presumptive GOP nominee and some of his lucky supporters at one of the Trump properties in Manhattan—launched into a furious disquisition concerning Obama’s place of birth.

“Look, it’s very simple,” said Trump, who has spent the past 13 months questioning Obama’s constitutional eligibility to occupy the White House (and only doubled down with his stubborn skepticism after Obama produced a long-form birth certificate, certifying he was born on Aug. 4, 1961, in Hawaii, and then hilariously roasted him at the 2011 White House Correspondents Dinner. “A book publisher came out three days ago and said that in his written synopsis of his book,” Trump went on, “he said he was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia. His mother never spent a day in the hospital.”

Actually, Obama’s literary agency at the time, two decades ago, published a recently discovered catalogue of clients and their projects that included erroneous information about Obama and a prospective book about race that he ended up not writing. An agency assistant back then, Miriam Goderich, said last week that she was mistaken when she wrote that Obama was born in Kenya.

But Trump isn’t buying it.

“That’s what he told the literary agent,” Trump insisted. “That’s the way life works… He didn’t know he was running for president, so he told the truth. The literary agent wrote down what he said… He said he was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia… Now they’re saying it was a mistake. Just like his Kenyan grandmother said he was born in Kenya, and she pointed down the road to the hospital, and after people started screaming at her she said, ‘Oh, I mean Hawaii.’ Give me a break.”

Oh noes! The Trumpster is back and he is making birther accusations against President Obama, yet again. Now why would Donald Trump want to open that old can of worms? Maybe it's the recent spate of birther accusations and stupidity in the face of reality, that has him going again. Only the Trumpster knows for sure.

Donald Trump is a pretty smart fella. He must know Obama is an American citizen. What is his game? Could it be to confuse the American public on Obama's re-election, by making these ridiculous birther claims? Perhaps.

Donald, the Americans falling for this birther nonsense aren't going to vote for Obama anyway.

Mr. Trump, you're fired.

Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz and Ana Kasparian discuss what the consequences should be for Trump's statements and why he should be fired from NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.

Bill Maher Mocks Birthers With Mitt Romney 'Wifer' Controversy

The Huffington Post | May 26, 2012

Bill Maher continued to take aim at GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's Mormon background on this week's episode of "Real Time," going so far as to create a fake polygamy controversy called "Wiferism" to combat "Birthers."

Although the "Birther" movement has lost some steam since President Obama publicly revealed his birth certificate, Republican Congressman Mike Coffman recently said that he "doesn't know" if Obama was born in the U.S., but believes that "in his heart, he's not an American."

To show how much he thought of Coffman's theory (and to get in a few more Mormon jokes at Romney's expense) Maher introduced the concept of "Wiferism," the belief that Romney is a secret polygamist. Using classic "Birther" rhetoric, he showed just how easy it is to create a controversy out of nothing:

"I mean, Mitt Romney comes from a Mormon background. I don't know how many wives he has. I'm not saying that I believe in that, I'm just saying he was born on a Mormon compound. I'm not a 'Wifer' but for some reason he's never shown his original marriage certificate."

Using images of Romney's day to day life altered to show the effect of his "unholy harem of obedient sister wives," Maher elaborated on his "Wifer" theory (which he really hopes he's wrong about).

[Source]

How Many Wives does Mitt Romney have? Bill Maher had some fun tearing into birthers on his show tonight by turning the tables and ginning up irresponsible, rampant speculation about Mitt Romney's marital history.

Maher is pretty funny in the video.

Mitt Romney Will Not 'Repudiate' Donald Trump For Birther Views

The Huffington Post | May 28, 2012

Mitt Romney will not 'repudiate' Donald Trump, even as the billionaire has resumed his public flirtations with "birtherism," according to the AP.

Romney told reporters Monday:

He wasn’t concerned about Donald Trump’s commitment to the “birther” conspiracy, one day before the GOP presidential candidate hosts a fund-raiser alongside the celebrity business magnate.

Asked on his charter plane whether Trump’s questioning of President Barack Obama’s birthplace gave him pause, Romney simply said he was grateful for all his supporters.

You know, I don't agree with all the people who support me and my guess is they don't all agree with everything I believe in. But I need to get 50.1 percent or more and I'm appreciative to have the help of a lot of good people.

After seizing the national spotlight last spring with his persistent suggestions that Barack Obama might not have been born in America -- a media blitz that culminated with President Obama releasing a copy of his long-form birth certificate -- Trump reaffirmed his suspicions in an interview last week.

The Romney campaign subsequently tried to create distance from Trump's remarks. However, then as now, it stopped short of reprimanding or breaking off ties with the billionaire, with whom Romney is campaigning.

[Source]
[Source]

Mittens could care less who helps him get to the 50.1% he needs to win the Presidential election. He will take endorsements from anyone that can help him, regardless of how stupid and crazy they might be. Ted Nugent endorsement? No problem, so what if he is a raving lunatic, we want his influence with the NRA. Donald Trump and his moronic birther claims? Of course we want his endorsement and fund raising, regardless of his ridiculous birther claims.

Conservative commentator George Will called Trump a "bloviating ignoramus" so I see no reason why any Republicans would criticize him. The comment is obviously based on observation of Donald Trump's behavior. The guy is 98% mouth and 2% brain, and it's not his best 2% either.

Donald Trump is much worse than useless. I hope he sticks to Mitten's shoes.

And that's why we avoid Republicans :)
