Some people in New Mexico who suffer from Catholicism are concerned about the choice made by Francis the Talking Pope for their new Archbishop.  The claim has been made that he formerly discouraged investigations and helped operate the infamous New Parish Merry Go Round in San Francisco.

Bishop John Wester was the man in charge of obstructing investigations under now Cardinal Levada, a name well known to victims attorneys.

Aye, them were the days.  Pretend nobody else ever said a word about Father Felon du Jour, pretend you are a bit skeptical of this report.  And the gallons and gallons of flat white paint.

Sounds like the new bishop in Chile.  That Francis sure does talk.

More on the new New Mexico Archbishop.

When Salt Lake City Bishop John Wester takes over as the head of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe this summer, he’ll inherit a flock haunted for decades by allegations of sexual abuse by priests.

During his introduction last week, Wester referred to sex abuse as “a terrible, terrible sin” and called protection of children in the church “more important than anything.”

If he is sincere and his words are followed by actions, then it would be a sign that HRCC has slightly become less evil.

Please forgive me if I'm hugely skeptical.  The Church has a long history of saying "What we used to do was horrible" while doing other things that are also horrible.

It is good that their feet are being held to the fire, but they really should just go out of business.

New Mexico is where the HRCC housed its “rehabilitation” center. The neighbors were not happy. (So many priests in one place; so few altar boys.)
