An egregiously hateful (holy) man of Gawd who just loves him up some Tweety McBigot sponsored a billboard claiming the US is "A Christian nation".

merika-chrischin-nashin.jpg

It happened in Dallas, Texas where pastor Robert Jeffress runs his First Baptist Dallas sheeple fleecing facility.

The Dallas news outlet published two articles calling the sign “hateful” and “divisive,” and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings was quoted in the article agreeing with the statements.

The articles were then sent to Outfront Media, who created the billboard, and the company decided to remove the billboard.

Imagine a Jeebustard losing in Texas, this guy must be a major asshole.  Fuqem.

Political Dig

To much for Texas?  I didn't think that was possible.

Not a chance. The only thing this country is turning into is fascism.

According to the Pew and various other polls, the world in general -- and America in particular -- is getting more secular.  I'm not really seeing it.  I thought maybe this story was evidence that it's true.

Is the world getting less religious?  Or are the polls lying to us?

In general world populations are becoming less superstitious, but at the same time religious fanatics are gaining power in dangerous countries like Iran and USA.

Fewer people believe, but believers are becoming more destructive.

I don't know if its the religious & religion that gets more publicity, but I am not seeing/hearing much increase in the less superstitious.

It's hard for me to evaluate the news.  What I find depressing is the alleged realignment of the Middle East.

On one side, we have America, Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

On the other side, we have the Palestinians, Hezbolah and Iran.

Where does China fit into any of this?  What ever we think of China, they are a world player.

If this is actually happening, it is the purest madness.  Nothing good can come from any of this.  Where is the new secular world that the polls keep saying is on the way?

Where is the new secular world that the polls keep saying is on the way?

From the projections I’ve seen, religion will continue to lose ground in the developed world (including the USA); however, the religious will outbreed the secular in Africa, the Middle East, south Asia, and maybe South America. And at least through the end of the century, their numbers will outpace the secularization in the rest of the world.

If religion is really losing ground in America, why am I not seeing it?  I live in New York City.  I'm not seeing any change.

To my understanding, people should be looking at Bibles, the same way they look at big, fat cigars.  As something loathsome and disgusting.  Nobody is giving the clergy dirty looks.  It's not happening.

I don't see it either, but then again all we get here is your news, & we know that isn't always totally trustworthy.

Imagine a world where full time, professional clergy, are treated with more disdain than sex workers.  Where the Bible is referred to as "that disgusting book."  I want to see this.
