A senior Buddhist monk counselling former defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to emulate Hitler and establish a military dictatorship may have seriously hurt his bid for the presidency, according to close associates.

A chief priest of the Asgiriya chapter, Vendaruwe Upali, blessed Rajapaksa on his 69th birthday Wednesday by urging him to follow the German dictator Hitler and take over the country even if it means establishing military rule.

Give any religion political power and it will become a monster, if not already.

You can choose to live in peace and harmony with your neighbors, or you can go to church.

Yes, I believe I have said that.

I think you were more right than we knew.

To my knowledge, no crimes have been committed in the name of Apathetic Agnosticism.

When it comes to Apathetic Agnosticism, I don't know and I don't care.   :-)

Point taken, although I continue to be amused by being an Agnostic minister.   [smilie=happyspin.gif]

These past few years, I have been having philosophic drift.  I prefer to say Apatheist  now, instead of Agnostic.  The problem with the Agnostic label -- I don't know -- suggests that the "question" actually matters -- and those bullshit arguments about what is knowable.   No.  It doesn't matter.  Likewise, I find the Atheist label is an invitation to stupid arguments about metaphysics.  Apatheism cuts through all the crap.  I don't care whether or not God exists.    [smilie=happy.gif]

Lets see someone try to pervert that.

I don't know if Apathetic Agnosticism is a religion, and I don't care :)
