We seem to be about mid-season for very early tomato varieties. The Indigo Rose I posted elsewhere earlier are possibly just past their peak. My Damsel tomatoes, plants bought live and shipped UPS from Ohio, are loaded with tomatoes. About one hundred medium to medium-small (right now) on an F1 hybrid that is indeterminate so they should keep going.

Meanwhile I've been buying tomato seeds, lots of seeds, exotic heirloom varieties and state of the art hybrids. I've actually had to create a Google Docs spreadsheet to keep track of all the varietals and their details.

Tomato gardening is nearly addictive.

Agreed.  I did not grow basil this year but not too late, it goes fast.

I love sticking my head between two tomato plants looking for ripe fruit and getting that wonderful tomato plant smell.

Click to enlarge a screenshot of my current spreadsheet. More seeds are on order.

Yeah, I can't get enough of the fragrance!

I have black cotton towels & dry my basil & parsley wrapped between them. They keep their colour & flavour better with being kept out of the light, & I get enough to get through winter.
