A Holy Roman Child Rape Church (Catholic) Bishop says that the global corporation is suffering from a global crisis of sexual morality.

Despite being the world's historically most successful coverup artists for over a thousand years, recent times have been hard as governments suddenly expect priests, bishops, and cardinals to obey the laws and stop covering up the rape of children.

These days a priest can get arrested for raping as few as a half dozen children, it's not like it used to be, that's for sure.

Hopefully all of this bad press will help to accelerate the death of HRCC.

Fuqem.

"Our Church is suffering from a crisis of sexual morality," DiNardo said. "The way forward must involve learning from past sins."

At least they have a nearly infinite supply of past sins from which to learn.

It doesn't actually say what the lesson is, that the church needs to learn.

A.  Not to sin.

B.  Not to get caught.

C.  Not to get convicted.

The Church always said that they wanted clergy with strong convictions.  I don't think this is what they had in mind.

I'll take answer B

It's a trick question.  The answer is B and C.

Well I sure knew the answer wasn't A.

Which leaves the real question.  Why are people still Catholic?  Truly, I don't get it.  What does it take to wake up the sheep?

Mandatory celibacy is one of the stupidest things I've heard, but obviously has different meanings for some.

Why are there still calflicks, indeed.

Going by the abuse scandals -- the Church does not prevent it's priests from having sex.  It prevents them from having consensual sex, with adults.  It's not quite the same as chastity.  It is only moral sex that they prevent.

Would anybody really care, if the priests were having consensual sex with each other?  For that matter -- consensual sex with the nuns?

There is one problem.  If the Church were to remove all closeted clegy -- who would be left?

Just the priests from extremely poor families in third world nations who signed up for a steady income.

They are not getting many new priests from US-born young men because it is so hard these days to make teenagers feel guilty for being gay.

It's been years since I saw the studies.  Here's the twisted part.  The male clergy who molest boys are the "straight" ones.  Meanwhile, the Church continues to blame homosexuality.  Surprise, it's not the closeted gay clergy who are the molesters.  It's the straight clergy, who can't live lives of chastity.

Of course, the closeted gay men, have their own torments of self loathing, deception and lies.  It is so inadequate to say that they have "issues".

I'm glad I ditched The Church when I was only 14.  It was plainly designed for social control. If The Church ceased to exist I would not be disappointed.

I have an e-mail subscription to the Catholic Patheos.  I'm persuaded that the next big Church scandal, will be how the priests have abused the nuns.  When it hits the fan, it's going to be big.

To make this situation worse they have rules against using condoms and rules about no contraception or abortion for women. So then nuns have children who become orphans.

Reality prevails.  Truth emerges.  This one stinks on ice.  The Church is here.  Horror must follow as night follows day.
