A 100% genuine Real Christian who serves on the school board of a nearby city dislikes the idea of transgender children using bathrooms but he thinks Hitler was just misunderstood.

“Common sense tells, the sermon tells, the direction of our country. So we have to get parental rights. Even if there’s policies that tell us not to, forget that,” Cruz said.

You know, Hitler, with Germany, it wasn’t Hitler that was bad,” Cruz mused. “It was the people who followed the laws and the agenda. And it went further and further and went out of control.”

It is becoming harder and harder to tell the difference between American Christians and American Nazis.

One of the joys of religion: Always being right.

When you've got god on your side you can never be wrong about anything - god wouldn't let you say anything if it was wrong. So if you decide that Hitler was actually quite a nice guy, then you are absolutely correct - god has approved that statement (or he would have struck you dumb before you said it).

What the fuck. I'm now waiting for the Catholics to somehow spin their "problem" to blame God for misdirecting their child rapers.

I've had my own conversations with Fundamentalists.  They do put the mental in Fundamental.  They don't care at all about facts, evidence, or external reality.  Their Scripture is inerrant -- errors and all -- and their standards of evidence consist entirely of Scripture -- and baseless assertions. Try showing them that all they have is flawed reasoning -- they change the subject.

I have gotten to the point where I can't debate Scripture any more.  I can't take it seriously, long enough to attack it.

And of course, when all else fails, threats of Eternal Damnation.  It's sad enough when an adult has an invisible friend.  Expecting others to be afraid of their invisible friend, is pathetic.

Not God.  The Devil made them do it.  The solution?  They need more exorcists.

No.  I'm not joking.

This is the Catholic Church.  Preying is how they got into trouble.

They don’t need to blame the god; they’ve got plenty of other people and things to blame. They blame the child victims for seducing the priests. They also blamed 1960s culture in a 2011 report, and I’ve seen an article—published by the organization in charge of making the lay people shoulder the burden reform efforts—blaming the press for focusing on the priests when LOOK! SQUIRREL!

Not God.  The Devil made them do it.  The solution?  They need more exorcists.

Oh yeah, and the devil, too.
