In one of the worst cases of utility company incompetence ever, the Columbia gas company has caused dozens of homes in Massachusetts to explode and/or burst into flames.

The idiot(s) over-pressurized a large gas main feeding South Lawrence and Andover MA, literally forcing so much high pressure gas into homes that they started exploding.  One young man riding in a car died when a chimney from an exploding house fell on the car.

You're going to have to try hard to fuck up worse than this.

How utterly sad and tragic.  I'm quite surprised there weren't more deaths. How awful.

I saw this yesterday, I mean when it was first going on and the first thing we did was look at our free standing natural gas stove and wonder if it was gas lines blowing up.

When my people come to colonize this planet, your names will be on the protected rolls, and you will come to no harm.

Check out the terms of reference when this inquiry begins. There will be loopholes big enough for a gas truck to drive through.

All over our news last night.....terrible on top of every other damn disaster occurring!

We have the pressurized gas lines here, & it would level our city if it went.

In the Virgin Islands, we have propane tanks delivered to the customers. I’m not 100% sure about the cities, but AFAIK, there are no gas lines.

The down side is that this leaves it up to the customers to secure the tanks. If you rent here, your landlord is not going to let you use a gas stove or gas water heater. Try to imagine what that does to your electric bill when we have the highest electric rates in the nation. (No side-eye from you, Ungodly. Last I checked, we were 3 times more expensive than California.)
