The family were going through a rough patch. Bills were piling up; there was no money coming in, and they were flat broke.

Then the husband found a $10 note on the sidewalk.

"The $10 on it's own won't help us much," he told his wife, "so I'm going to nip down to the casino and see if I can win a bit more."

He put the $10 through the slot machines and won $200 with a mini-jackpot.

Now that he had a working bankroll he decided to push his luck and started making some pretty hefty bets at the Blackjack table where he experienced a good run of winners and cashed out a total of $857.

Realising that he was on a lucky streak, he headed for the Roulette table where he made another $1500 profit on his bets and now he had more than $2,000 in his wallet.

Next it was off to the high stakes room where he started betting $25 per spin on the slot machines, but luck had deserted him and within the space of 15 minutes he found himself flat broke.

He trudged off home and as he walked through the door his wife asked him, "How did you go?"

"I lost the $10," he told her.

My husband likes to go to the casino a couple of times a year. He goes in with $20, & a 2 hour limit for his entertainment. He plays the nickel machines.

If he loses the 20, its fine, he's enjoyed himself for a couple of hours. If he wins anything, its a bonus, & he still leaves after his 2 hours.

I don't gamble at all.
