Myth: Haven't Scientists, Philosophers & Theologians Proven that God Exists? There is a common belief among many theists that there are strong philosophical or theological arguments which have proven that God exists, thus rendering disbelief in God perverse at best.... http://atheism.about.../b/a/258801.htm

Problem is that the "proofs" for God's existence tend to go something like this:

The teleological argument:

1. All things require a designer.
2. But God doesn't need a designer because he's special.
3. Therefore God exists.

The cosmological argument:

1. That which is not God has a cause.
2. The universe is not God.
3. Therefore the universe has a cause.
4. And conveniently enough, God is the cause of the universe.

The ontological argument:

1. I can imagine that God exists.
2. I have yet to outgrow my imaginary friends.
3. Therefore God exists.

The objective morality argument:

1. I need God to tell me what not to do.
2. Otherwise I'd go around stealing, and raping, and murdering for the heck of it.
3. Obviously everyone is just as degenerate as I am.
4. Therefore God exists.

I know.  I've got that site bookmarked.  Funny stuff.

The ones I posted were original parodies though, except the cosmo one is based on an essay by Dan Barker.

I have yet to see a single argument for God's existence that isn't full of fallacies. Those arguments are for the flock, told to them by surrogate thinkers, so they'll be able to believe that their religion is logical.
