It is important that the state of Utah deny the existence of both alcoholic beverages and gay teens.

My first reaction upon reading about that idiocy was "Holy Jeebus onna stick! What a bunch of stupid prudes!" Then I remembered that there are about 3 places in the state of Utah where one can actually buy alcohol, and that Utah is the only state in the country where people actually do complain about such inconsequential shit because their cavernous, empty heads don't have anything else to think about.

Still makes them stupid prudes, though.

FYI: Just for the record. If you go to Wendover Nevada to the Peppermill Casino any Saturday night you will see busloads, literally, of good righteous Mormons flocking from Salt Lake to the bordertown like Brigham Youngs Seagulls. They swoop in on the place and gamble and drink like a herd of longshoremen then jump back on the busses and get back in time for Salt Lake City tabernacle in the morning. The Casino employees hate them because they are so rude and obnoxious. We were there when they swarmed the place and it wasn't pretty. The Mormons are just like any other Christians. Hypocrits and maybe even a bit worse.

I swear it's a lifestyle choice!  I just don't believe these people are born Mor[m]ons, it's a choice, I tells ya. Which opens up the door for us to identify them as a group with restricted civil rights.

Religion breeds hypocrites. Religion denies people the very biological necessities that make us human. In the war of peity vs. hormones, the hormones almost always win out. And when they don't, insanity ensues for many of the religiously afflicted.

This hasn't always been the case, I don't think, because the religions of our remotest ancestors must've surved a purpose for survival. Maybe group cohesion, when groups were small, few, and far between. But now the various groups are butting against each other's territories, and can't easily co-exist. The two major Abrahamic religions, Christianity and Islam, both seem to want to rule the world, extinguishing all opposing worldviews and controlling society completely.

Religion is anti-survival, because it expects the future to be in the hands of a non-existent God, and so it takes no steps to ensure civilized humanity's continued existence. The naturalistic worldview recognizes that the future of the world, and humanity, is in humanity's hands, and no one else's. We can make of the future what we will, or we can bow to ignorance and indifference, and unfortunately most of the population of the planet seems to have chosen the latter course. Existence is so precarious for most people that they don't have the time to delve deeply into the nature of reality, so they let others do that for them, and then pay them on Sundays (or whenever) to tell them what to think about the world.

To the south side, right at the spot where Nevada, Arizona and Utah come together on I-15 is the town of Mesquite.  The casinos there get all the St George and Cedar City buses.  Not the most popular folks there, either, but I don't think St Georgians (?) are held in such utter contempt as the northerners (SLC, Ogden, Provo) are.

Given what else Mor(m)onism forbids, do they also whip it out and start frantically jacking it when they arrive at the casino?  I'd hate to see the carpet cleaning bills for that place.
