You have probably noticed I don't post in any of the hi brow sections of the Forum.

Yeah this is a pretty stodgy bunch! Wouldn't want to hob-knob with all these elitists!

[center]Birthday of Statue of Liberty - October 28

The New Colossus
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame.
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes  command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, 'Yes, gravity is real! I will have fiath! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down, down. Amen!' If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it.

John Lennon was born October 9, 1940.

Who can forget his words:

You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us and the world will be as one

I hate to tell you this, Lady, but you're going to become famous all over the net for your beautiful voice and lyrics, even when they're not yours, like this one. I think it would be a real shame for us to keep you to ourselves, when there are so many out there in need of a lifting of spirit (I know, as an atheist I'm not supposed to use that word, but I mean it in a psychological way, not religious). Once you put yourself out on the web, the expectation of privacy disappears, unless you specifically tell us to keep your beautiful singing as a secret. Where have you been all my life?

Hi Unbeliever,
Thanks for your comments Posted ImageI guess.. :snork_lach: :snork_lach:
I really do like to sing and I am old enough to just not care what anybody thinks.  When I retired I decided to learn how to play the baritone uke. I sit at my computer all day and play all the songs I like.  Mostly old tunes that nobody except a few here have ever heard.  I rarely hear old standards anymore and knew if I was going to hear them I would just have to sing them myself.  So I close the door to my computer room and just use the Windows Sound Recorder. Then I make tons of little web pages with my songs and send them to entertain my friends and irritate my enemies.  Sometimes the two change places. I don't know if I have any more "inspirational" songs in me.  I love the John Lennon song. It truly brings tears to my eyes. I thought I would never get it recorded because I would start crying every time I sang it.

Here is a Beatles web page I made.  My Beatle Songs I thought I posted it once..maybe not.

And here is another page of songs I do. SUN and MOON Nothing great but it is what I do and love doing. I don't sit around thinking about no god all day.
I will post some others later if encouraged.  :snork_shok:
Too much of Lady is Posted Image well too much of Lady.

OK, here's my freethought snippet for today:

The Discovery of the Future[/i],"]We look back through countless millions of years and see the great will to live struggling out of the intertidal slime, struggling from shape to shape and from power to power, crawling and then walking confidently upon the land, struggling generation after generation to master the air, creeping down into the darkness of the deep; we see it turn upon itself in rage and hunger and reshape itself anew, we watch it draw nearer and more akin to us, expanding, elaborating itself, pursuing its relentless inconceivable purpose, until at last it reaches us and its being beats through our brains and arteries...It is possible to believe that all the past is but the beginning of a beginning, and that all that is and has been is but the twilight of the dawn. It is possible to believe that all that the mind of man has ever accomplished is but the dream before the awakening...
Out of our...lineage, minds will spring, that will reach back to us in our littleness to know us better than we know ourselves. A day will come, one day in the unending succession of days, when beings, beings who are now latent in our thoughts and hidden in our loins, shall stand upon this Earth as one stands upon a footstool, and shall laugh and reach out their hands amidst the stars.

Bob Marley:

Preacherman, don't tell me,
Heaven is under the earth.
I know you don't know
What life is really worth.
It's not all that glitters is gold;
'Alf the story has never been told:
So now you see the light, eh!
Stand up for your rights. Come on!

Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight!
Get up, stand up: stand up for your rights!
Get up, stand up: don't give up the fight!

Most people think,
Great God will come from the skies,
Take away everything
And make everybody feel high.
But if you know what life is worth,
You will look for yours on earth:
And now you see the light,
You stand up for your rights. Jah!

Hey, I like that one! I really like Bob Marley, some of my favorite music, and this one's especially good.
